Safe working load
The load a pallet carries in normal handling and transit. EPAL publishes 1,500 kg for a compliant Euro pallet.
Also called: SWL, dynamic load
The figure to plan a load against, and the only pallet-side load figure EPAL publishes besides the 5,500 kg stacking condition. It applies to a pallet produced, marked and maintained to EPAL requirements — not to any 1200 × 800 mm pallet. See also static load and racking load, which are quoted interchangeably with it and should not be.
