Pre-stretch
Elongating stretch film between geared rollers before it reaches the pallet. At 250%, one metre off the roll covers three and a half metres of load.
Also called: prestretch, power pre-stretch
It does not change how much film the pallet needs — geometry sets that. It changes how much roll you spend getting there, and it is usually the largest single saving available in a packaging operation. See the cost per pallet calculator.
