Pinwheel pattern
A pallet layer in which some cases are turned ninety degrees so that a strip which would otherwise be wasted gets filled.
Also called: block pattern, interlock
A 350 × 250 mm case fits nine per layer in straight rows and ten in a block pattern — an eleventh more load for nothing but a different program on the palletiser.
